Fifteen years ago, when power-pop was at the zenith, a band called Tommy 16 decided to give their best and release an album called Rocking Big Buddha. It was the second and the last album they ever released. The band split up and disappeared like smithereens all over Sweden. Some of the members tried to hold on to music but it was never the same again. But still, in these days, I have admit that the album it’s a very decent work that summons quite well what power-pop was all about. Personally my top favorites on Rocking Big Buddha are the beautiful ”Racerboy” (which was on of three songs that appeared as singles) and the equally laid back ”Hard To Be A Man”.
And by the way, Tommy 16 was born under the original moniker Hardy Nilsson.
