WE AHR an indie-pop duo from the Island of Gotland who write great atmospheric tracks where melancholy meets powerful energy. Their first release song together with us is up for a release at the fourth of April.
The duo itself is consisting of cousins Jacob and Gabriel, who started making music together during the pandemic. Their name is a nod to the Gotland parish Ar (formerly spelled Ahr), where they spent their childhood summers and wrote their first song together.
Gabriel learned to play the guitar from his godfather, Pugh (famous Swedish artist and musician), and has since played in several hardcore bands, while Jacob has a background in choral singing but began writing his own indie folk music as a teenager. Despite their different musical backgrounds, they have united in a shared sound that spans from acoustic instruments to synthesizers and distorted electric guitars. WE AHR creates melancholic indie pop with distinct melodies and deeply personal lyrics. In true DIY spirit, the band handles everything themselves – from recording and production to music videos.
