Stefan Larsson starts from his Malmö horizon (Sweden’s number three), and explores social and relational themes in his music. The collaboration with Lisalotta Karlsson from a smaller town in southern Sweden extends over many, many years (but it is only now that she also fronts under her own name). For in ”Thin as a Dime” it is Lisalotta who, with her heartfelt and sensitive voice, plays the main role, backed by Stefan (piano, choir) and the studio duo Petter Eriksson (bass) and Jonathan Kabell (drums).
The text tells of a fundamentally beautiful relationship but at the same time draws a portrait where it is not the lack of feelings that is the problem but rather the inability to hold oneself together in relation to the other. This is perhaps best expressed in the almost excessively general ”it’s not the heart, it’s the head that’s wrong”.
Recorded under Petter Eriksson’s gentle hand at Studio Folkhemmet in small Unnaryd (a small community), ”Thin as a Dime” is one of three singles that will be released by us in early 2026.
With that said, Stefan says;
– ”There’s something here that expresses friction, maybe even the necessity of friction, but also a hope that it will actually — after all — work itself out. Somehow it does.”
To summon up it all, ”Thin as a dime” is indeed a lovely singer-songwriter tune, perhaps you could even say it’s a finely tuned piano ballad. Soft and wonderful in any case.
