Now we release this piano-based three-track single by and with Daniel Wilén. In addition to the strong and emotional opening track ”Father’s Song”, you will also find another nice song signed by the artist, as well as a piano version of the monster hit ”Black Hole Sun”.
Incidentally, ”Father’s Song” has a dark but at the same time beautiful background which is inspired by a number of far too early deaths in the artist’s vicinity.
– During a fairly short period last winter, several people my own age died, which was a frightening awakening but at the same time created a humble gratitude for life, says Daniel.
He says that someone passed away after a long struggle, while others died quickly and completely unexpectedly, and even if they were not friends in his immediate circle of acquaintances, it affected him incredibly.
– I had already written Lifelong Symphony, which deals with a kind of panic about dying from your children, not being able to be there when they need you and not having time to say anything or teach them something you realize they needed. In Father’s Song comes the realization that the only thing I really want to say to them is that they make me so proud. That in so many, but different ways, they are a better version of me. That makes this the most important thing I’ve ever written, which makes it feel incredibly good to release these songs, concludes Daniel.
